As a compassionate and dedicated veterinarian, Dr. Ami Hensley has always been driven by a passion to improve the lives of animals and the people who love them.  Originally from Southern California, Dr. Ami received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University, where she focused on small animal medicine with the intent to pursue general practice. However, it was a personal experience that truly shaped her career trajectory - the journey of caring for her own beloved cat, Pixel, at home as she aged and faced chronic kidney disease. Witnessing the comfort and peace that came from providing care and pain management to her own cat in a familiar environment sparked a new interest in Dr. Ami - delivering veterinary care in the home setting.

As she continued to work with patients both at-home and in the clinical setting, Dr. Ami became increasingly drawn to the area of end-of-life care. She recognized the immense emotional weight that pet owners carry when saying goodbye to their beloved companions, and the challenges that come with navigating the final stages of life in a clinical setting. With this in mind, she sought out additional training and expertise in at-home euthanasia, determined to provide pets and their families with a gentle, peaceful, and compassionate experience.

For Dr. Ami, there is no greater honor than supporting pet owners during some of life's most difficult moments. By providing empathetic and personalized care in the comfort of their own homes, she aims to ease the emotional burden of saying goodbye, while also celebrating the profound bond between humans and animals. With over 19 years of experience serving the Bay Area as a dedicated veterinarian, Dr. Ami brings a unique combination of compassion, expertise, and understanding to her work, striving to create an environment where pets can pass with peace and dignity, surrounded by those they love - and where their owners can find solace in the knowledge that every moment mattered.
